The vigilante security member Nwaneri was said to have attended the funeral of a colleague who had died. That day on the funeral, he fired several gunshots into the air as last respect for their fallen colleague.
The suspect Chigozie Nwaneri have been arrested by the state police for killing a woman from one of the gunfire he fire at a colleagues funeral. He had aslo injures a 7 months old baby who is currently receiving treatment.
The victim had died immediately after the shot, why the suspects the incident was a result of accidental discharge.
I was firing into the air and was surprised when people started shouting that my gun had killed somebody. I believed that it was one of the cartridges that got hooked in the gun that hit the woman after it exploded. I am deeply saddened over the incident.
