Dr. Abba Sayyadi Ruma, who was a former minister of agriculture and water resources, has died today 27th Oct 2021. The former Agriculture Minister died today, October 27th, in a London hospital following a brief illness, according to reports.
Dr. Ruma was an appointed minister by President Umaru Yar’Adua on July 26, 2007, but was fired in March 2010 by then-acting president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. Abba Ruma was also the founder of Cherish International School in Batsari, with his campuses in Katsina state.
He is also a Partner Minister of the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization and the Chairman of the Governing Council of the International Fund for Agricultural Development, based in Rome, Italy (UNESCO).
Dr. Abba Ruma, who was born in March 1962, was proclaimed Minister of State in the Federal Ministry of Education in 2005 under Dr. Obiageli Ezekwesili, and he temporarily became Federal Minister of Education in 2007 when Ezekwesili left for a job with the World Bank.
