‘THIS MADE ME CRY’: SOME NEWCASTLE FANS REACT TO STATEMENT COMING OUT OF ST JAMES’S PARK

Reports by Nufc is that the fans of Newcastle are thrilled by what Amanda Staveley has revealed this afternoon, ahead of the new year.

The English businesswoman fronted a takeover at Newcastle in October.

Saudi Public Investment Fund completed a £300 million purchase of the St James’s Park club.

There were joyous scenes outside the stadium because not only are the Magpies under new and exciting ownership, but they ousted the villainous Mike Ashley.

Despite the feel-good factor off the field, United have struggled on the pitch.

Newcastle have only won just one Premier League game all season, culminating in Eddie Howe’s outfit being second from bottom in the standings.

On New Year’s Eve, Staveley released a lengthy statement via the club’s official website.

In it, she said that she can see a ‘a bright and, ultimately, successful future’ on Tyneside in spite of the ‘current challenges’ at the moment.

Communication of leadership to the fanbase was relatively unheard of during Ashley’s tenure at Newcastle.

And here’s how the supporters are reacting to Staveley’s message today:

The Big message

One supporter put it best: small gesture, big message.

That’s precisely what it is and, as the responses indicate, Newcastle supporters are overjoyed by the sentiment.

Despite being in a grim position in the table, there’s genuine optimism at the highest level and hopefully for the club’s sake, that feel-good sense will trickle down and positively affect the playing staff.Photo by Serena Taylor/Newcastle United via Getty Images
