Niger Delta Militant

Mutu Mone, or MK, who is a notorious sea pirate and abduction kingpin from Ondo State, was assassinated by former militants and security operatives of the state.
MK, who has terrorized communities in the waterways of Edo and Delta States for months now with the killing of soldiers and mediators, according to reports.

The late sea lord was shot dead with charms tied around his neck and other part of his body on Sunday night 24th Oct, according to residents who saw his remains.

We heard gunshots in the middle of the night, but we were already on high alert because of what transpired on Friday night between MK and the Creek Dragons.” We all knew they were looking for him, so when we walked out the next morning, we confirmed that he was the one who had been shot.

a villager told Vanguard news

The warnings of ex-militant leader Government Ekpemupolo, aka Tompolo, to MK to stop his illegal operations on the waterways after Egbema Kingdom chiefs in Warri North-West LGA, Delta State, denounced him fell on deaf ears, according to the reports.

As a result of this, Tompolo was obliged to enlist the help of some ex-militants known as the Creek Dragons to catch him.

MK was said to have returned to Delta State last week to proceed his wicked operations after departing the Southsouth state a few months ago after killing some troops and Egbema Peacekeepers.

On Friday night, Tompolo’s men engaged in a hard gunfight with the bandit, forcing him to flee deep into his stronghold on the Abigboro River in Warri South-West LGA to resupply.

The Creek Dragons closed the two entry points to his den on Abigboro River after his withdrawal, and continued their manhunt for him until Sunday night.

MK and his crew were obliged to come out in search of food that had been cut off by the blockade.

I express a great thank you to the creator of heaven and earth for making the legendary cup of Mutu Mone, alias MK, to pass us in Delta state,

said Daniel Ezekiel, the Senior Special Assistant, SSA, on Security Matters to Delta state governor.

Like Vanguard newspapers rightly reported today (yesterday), it has been a total war in the creek of Abigboro River since Friday night.

“Due to the superior firepower of security agencies and creek dragons, MK with his boys withdrew deep into the creek, his hiding inside the creek made creek dragons block the two entrances into his hideout.

“One key strategy of winning a war is by denying your opponent source of food supply, this plan perfectly worked in this MK operation. After few days of hiding in the creek, he and his boys ran out of food and other things, this made them come out and they engaged security operatives and creek dragons in a gun battle, last night which ultimately consumed him and his boys.”
