The Nigerian Navy is a regular participant in the annual exercise, and this year’s version is no different as tis being hosted by Nigeria itself.
The Grand African Exercise NEMO is a significant international maritime exercise in the Gulf of Guinea, organized and led by the French Navy and including the Navies of the 18 countries that border the Gulf, as well as ten other nations.
The Navy’s participation in the 2021 version of the Exercise has already begun and the Nigerian Navy will participate in the exercise with 13 ships, two helicopters, and two SBS detachments.
The NN ships taking part in the Ex include the following:
