The Afghanistan Officials have anounced that they will now start paying Overdue Salaries to Government worker in the country.
The Government and staff worker will be paid full 3 months owed payment. Where the payment comes from was not announced as the Afghanistan funds overseas were frozen after the movement took over the country in August.
Foreign governments have refused to directly fund the Taliban-led administration to help pay workers. Finance has also stopped globally.
The special envoys of Germany and the Netherlands met with Taliban officials in Kabul on Thursday and expressed willingness to pay health and education workers directly through international organizations.
This Overdue Salaries was one of the many crises faced by the Taliban since the movement took over the country.
The finance ministry says that in the last 78 working days of the last three months, we have generated income of about 26.915 billion Afghanistan ($288 million).
We collected 557 million Afghanis ($5.9 million) in revenue on Wednesday alone,” Samangani said, quoting the finance ministry, adding the payment of pensions of retired workers would also resume soon.
