
According to a Syrian military statement, the attack occurred from northern Israel and targeted a military position in the town of Zakia in the western Damascus countryside.
The Syria’s military Officials had claimed Israel carried out an air raid early Wednesday 3rd November 2021 on a military base on the outskirts of Damascus, causing material damage. The Officials also said the raid took place shortly after midnight on Wednesday.
However, they admitted, that it is targeting Iranian-backed militias, such as the formidable Lebanese guerrilla group Hezbollah. In Syria’s civil conflict, Hezbollah is fighting alongside Syrian President Bashar Assad’s army.
It was Israel’s second attack in four days on locations near the capital. On Saturday, Syrian defense was activated after missiles were fired during the day against Damascus suburbs, which had affected two soldiers.

Israel conducts most of its raids on Syria at night and Over the years, Israel has carried out hundreds of strikes in Syria on Iranian-linked military targets, but rarely admits or discusses these operations.
It is pursuing arms shipments that are thought to be headed for the terrorist group Hezbollah.
Israel has regularly bombed what it has characterized as Iran-linked infrastructure and weapons convoys destined for Lebanon’s armed Hezbollah group, claiming that their presence on its northern border marks a red line.
