The shooting of Andreas Danman had shocked the whole country while the Police chief describe Danman who is in his early 30’s was new in the police profession.
THE STORY
Andreas Danman was rushing on his police motorcycle to the site of another shooting in Gothenburg district of Biskopsgården. As he reached for the crosswalk, he was shot with a submachine gun and after taken to a hospital died from the bullet injuries.
The Incident shocked the whole Sweden as it involves a Police officer. A suspected 17 years old boy was arrested and was prosecuted on the bases of security camera footage and DNA results from items found not far from the scene.
The judge, Göran Lundahl of Gothenburg court sentence the boy to 8 years in prison after the DNA results from the items found not far from the scene belonged to him.
The courts concluded the incident of being a gang related fight at the area and weather the boy knows he was shooting a police officer. They concluded he had mistaken Danman for another person.
This is an incident carried out in a gang environment and as part of a gang conflict.
Lundahl said.
The boy however in Court denies being involved in the incident, he claimed he was playing games in Frölunda, when the murder occured. He said he had acquaintances playing games but when ask of the acquaintances he only provides the first names.
