Niyonsenga, whose YouTube username is Cyuma has been sentenced to 7 years in prison.
His Charges
Niyonsenga, is charged on 4 charges which includes; Forgery, Impersonation and humiliating the state Officials.
Cyuma has about 15 million views on his YouTube videos had also used his channel to criticize the Government and today the court of Kigali has sentenced him to 7 years with fine of 5 million Rwandan. Cyuma which means iron had claimed the channel is all about human rights abuse.
The Lawyer of Niyonsenga is appealing for the verdict against the influencer saying that it simply not right. The YouTube star was not at the court when the verdict was passed but was immediately arrested after the court.
The spokesman for the Rwanda Investigation Bureau had confirmed that Niyonsenga has been arrested.
