Ian Wright has said on Premier League Productions that he was wrong about Tottenham Hotspur against Southampton.
The Arsenal legend has said that he thought that Tottenham were going to win against Southampton when the Saints went down to 10 men.
The Premier League game between the Saints and Spurs at St. Mary’s Stadium today has ended in a 1-1 draw.
James Ward-Prowse put Southampton in the lead in the 25th minute.
Mohammed Salisu brought down Spurs forward Son Heung-min in the box in the 39th minute.
It saw Salisu earn a second yellow card and get sent off, and Harry Kane scored from the resulting penalty.
In our opinion, Spurs were unlucky not to win against Southampton.
Two of the goals that Antonio Conte’s side had ruled out should have stood.
Now, of course, we must credit Southampton for the way they earned a point against Tottenham despite going down to 10 men in the first half.
However, in our view, it could have been a different result had Tottenham not had two of their goals ruled out.
