As we approach the new year, Instagram, like other social media platforms such as TikTok, Twith, and even Spotify, has released a new tool that allows its users to look back at their highlights from the previous year.

‘2021 PLAYBACK’ ON INSTAGRAM
The 2021 Playback is the name of the Instagram new year review. Many people refer to it as a ‘Year In Review’ or a ‘2021 Recap‘ and the only way to get your 2021 Playback reel on Instagram is to click the 2021 sticker on someone else’s 2021 Playback reel.
This means you’ll have to track down someone else who’s used the feature and shared their clip on their Story. There will be a ‘2021’ sticker on the side that you can click on. You’ll then be taken to the feature.
There doesn’t appear to be any other way to access the functionality if you can’t find a Story with the 2021 badge.
EDITING YOUR ‘2021 PLAYBACK’ ON INSTAGRAM
You may want to edit your story If you’re not happy with the Stories Instagram has automatically selected for you, it possible to edit your Playback before sharing it. See how to do it Below;
Tap ‘next’ and you will be taken to an editing screen. There, you can add, delete and change the order of the Stories using the bar at the bottom.
To add more stories, just tap the plus icon at the end and choose the Story you want to add. You can add a maximum of ten.
You can also delete your story If you tap it twice and you will see a bin icon appear above it. Tap the bin and it will be deleted.
