Nadiya Hussain MBE who is the winner of the Great British Bake Off, he is a TV chef and currently backing a new WaterAid campaign to provide clean water and toilets to schools.
UK Government will match up to £2 million in donations to the charity’s Thirst For Knowledge fundraiser which is between November 16 and February 15 2022.
Hussain, have launched the WaterAid’s new campaign on Tuesday November 23rd.
The campaign aims to provide clean water, decent toilets, and good hygiene to 30 schools in Nepal’s Bardiya area, this Campaign will benefit up to28,000 people.
Hussain said that every mother would want to give their children the best in life and yet due to circumstances, these mother’s still have to send their children to school that don’t have clean water and toilets.
Not only does this compromise their children’s health; it has a particularly detrimental impact on girls and traps whole communities in poverty. Without these basic facilities, another generation of girls and young women are being left behind.
The good news is that water can be an incredible catalyst for lasting change. With clean water, toilets and soap in schools, girls can complete their education and grow up on an equal footing, with the chance to earn a higher income and build better futures for themselves and their families
