According to reports, a preseason competition comprising six top clubs in Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL, has been finalized by Polish sportswear manufacturing firm Select in collaboration with former Super Eagles winger Ifeanyi Ekwueme.
The clubs Enugu Rangers, Plateau United, Rivers United, Heartland, Abia Warriors, and Kwara United have all confirmed their participation in the weeklong showcase set to take place at Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium Enugu State, according to Completesports.com.
Bayelsa United, the reigning Nigeria Cup champions, and Apex Crane FC, a Nigerian second-tier league club, are among the teams competing.
The league match will begin on November 14 and culminate on November 20, when the final will be held at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium.
The competition, dubbed the Ifeanyi Ekwueme Tico/Select NPFL Preseason Tournament 2021, is designed to give clubs a chance to get their teams in condition ahead of the 2021/2022 season.
