The Dickinson is now taking it to the next level with Emily and Lavinia traveling to the future in the upcoming installment The Future Never Spoke.
They both traveled to the future via Gazeboo, some 100 years in the future.
Emily and Lavinia had both found a future home among young college students. They ushered the new sisters into their separate living quarters.
When Emily learned that her poetry had become famous and even a point of controversy among literary historians, she converted her residence into the Emily Dickinson Museum.
In other episodes and season in Dickinson, we have seen some really lovely, sisterly moments with them Both but there’s something that happens in this particular episode between the Emily and Lavinia.
During their talk with Sylvia, Emily and Lavinia learn that the version of Emily’s story that has become popular among researchers believes she had an unrequited love affair with a guy or was a lesbian.
Emily tries to seem as if this fact about herself hasn’t been brought up and switches the topic back to 1950s reality, but Lavinia quickly inquires about the prospective reveal. Emily eventually acknowledges that she has only ever loved Sue and no one else.
