The book has been written in an interview format to make it appear true to life. In the end, the interviewer is revealed to be Billy and Camila Dunne’s daughter, Julia.

DAISY JONES AND THE SIX BOOK ENDING EXPLAINED
At the end of the book, it is explained that Camila Dunne (Camila Morrone) asked Daisy Jones (Riley Keough) to leave the band. It became known to Camila, Daisy, and Billy Dunne (Sam Claflin) that Daisy and Billy had fallen in love. It was taking a toll on both singers as Billy will never let go of his relationship with Camila.
“Daisy, he loves you. You know that he loves you,” Camila says at the end of the book. “I KNOW that he loves you. But he’s not going to leave me.”
Daisy Jones packs her belongings and books herself onto a flight, gets clean, and gets herself far away entirely from the band. She eventually adopts two sons and remains friends with Simone (Nabiyah Be).
