Nearly half of the population of this world consider themselves as shy, which is a bad thing. Shyness is not a fashion statement, nor is it judged in a positive manner. People judge a shy person as an arrogant and egoistic brat. So knowing how to overcome shyness is important. It will take time to break out of that shell; don’t expect it to happen overnight. You have to stretch yourself, no not physically, but emotionally. It’s in human nature to stick with things around which he is comfortable and easy with. But you have to eliminate this factor from your life,as this will only reinforce your shyness and hide the real you from the world. You should gradually move more out of home, interact with new people, expose yourself to social situations and have a better social life. These things will stretch you emotionally and will kick your social anxiety away. By overcoming this you can overcome your shyness.

They appreciate if someone offers them a friendly hand. If you open up to them they will react positively. This surely will build your self-confidence if you go up to them and introduce yourself and then make them feel comfortable around you.
