ARE MAGGIE AND NEGAN TOGETHER AS AMC ANNOUNCES ISLE OF THE DEAD?
Behold! Two of the biggest characters of The Walking Dead – Maggie and Negan – are getting their own show.
AMC announced the spin-off series Isle of the Dead that’ll follow Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s characters closely as they travel through post-apocalyptic Manhattan.
While fans may find it strange to see Maggie and Negan as the survivors in New York City owing to their dark past, some are questioning their relationship as they embark on a journey together.
Are Maggie and Negan together in Isle of the Dead?
No, Maggie and Negan are not together in Isle of the Dead, and the creators do not intend to have anything romantic or sexual between Jeffrey and Lauren’s characters.
Addressing the discussions surrounding the possibility of bringing Maggie and Negan together, showrunner Angela Kang told Insider: “I think that sometimes strong emotions, in any direction, can cross wires. With these two, there’s not a romantic intent that we’re doing.”
These talks originated after Episode 5 of Season 11, where Maggie and Negan disagree on a mission, which made some viewers sense a “sexual tension” between the two.
However, most fans are simply disgusted by the thought of seeing them together after watching Negan beat Maggie’s husband, Glenn, to death.
