The government of Anambra State has declared Saturday as a school day for students and teachers in the state. The administration was obliged to make the decision after the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) issued a sit-at-home order, which hampered Monday academic and other activities in the state including through out the South East.
The Anambra State government has approved Saturday classes for private and public schools from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. to compensate for the time lost on Mondays since the sit-at-home order was implemented, also aturday lectures will resume on October 30, 2021.
Iam directed by the E S to advise you that the Anambra State Government has authorized Saturdays as school days in place of Mondays,
states the instruction, which was issued over the weekend.
All HMs are to notify teachers, pupils as well as parents about the new development. Quality Assurance supervision and every other supervisions henceforth will hold on Saturdays.
Every permission for absent from classes on Saturdays must be addressed to the Executive Chairman ASUBBEB through the E S following due process. Saturday classeswill commence on 30/10/21 ie next week.”
