‘ALMOST EMBARRASSED’: MICHAEL OWEN REACTS TO WHAT CONTE DID AFTER SPURS GOAL

In the after match of Tottenham and WATFORD, the Tottenham player Davinson Sanchez was the hero for the match.

With the match finay ending with a goal by Antonio Conte’s scoring 1 goal for Watford.

Conte has a reputation for being an animated figure on the touchline and suffice to say that the Tottenham boss was euphoric after seeing Sanchez’s goal.

But Michael Owen said after the game that the Italian manager looked ‘almost embarrassed’ to celebrate in front of compatriot and friend Claudio Ranieri.

The Spurs coach described Ranieri as ‘extraordinary’ before the game and revealed that the pair will get together for a family event in the near future.

Owen told Optus Sport: “How do you defend that [the cross]? It’s such a flat ball coming in. We see Antonio Conte there. He’s almost embarrassed that he was celebrating in front of his old mentor.”

Genuine contenders

Tottenham look well capable of finishing in the Champions League places.

Conte’s side are now only two points behind fourth-placed Arsenal, who lost 2-1 to Manchester City this afternoon.

But crucially, the Lilywhites have two games in hand over their North London rivals, which makes the cushion potentially four points.
