
The life of Ugochukwu Chinyere was lost from bullets fired by policemen at checkpoint in front of popular Metrological complex on Obikabia-Umukalika road.
THE STORY.
According to eyewitness at the scene Mr. Christopher Nduagu, who said thst Ugochukwu was a mere passenger in the motorcycle which the incident had occur.
The fight between both the motorcycle Rider and the police man at the checkpoint was caused as the driver refused to pay the usual 50 naira to the Policeman, the hot argument had led to Ugochukwu interfering.
The police man had warned Ugochukwu not to come close and suddenly he fired the gun at him. He was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment but was pronounced dead afterwards.
The driver of the motorcycle was also shot at the knee and since have been receiving treatment at a hospital nearby.
The victim Late Ugochukwu Chinyere was an indigene of Umuekwensu community in Ohuru Isimiri, Obingnwa local government area of the state who is a graduate at the Abia Polytechnic.
The youths at the area had gone to the checkpoint where the policeman had shoot the two and nobody was there.

No Official Statement has been released by the Nigerian Police Force on the subject as of the time of this post.
