Thousands of Anambra voters flocked to voting stations on Saturday November 6 to vote for their favourite candidate to succeed Mr Willie Obiano as governor of the state.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had announced that voting would begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 2:30 p.m. for the election.
Due to a failure of the accreditation devices – Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) in several polling places, the electoral umpire extended the time to finish voting hours into the election.
The election will continue at other units where hitches were reported, despite the sorting and counting of ballots in many polling stations.
While some polling stations welcomed enormous crowds eager to exercise their civic duty, others saw a low voter turnout.
